The latest chapter in Maryland’s ongoing battle to pass a full false claims law was written last month when  a special session of the Maryland House of Delegates heard testimony on the Maryland False Claims Act of 2013.

I was invited by Delegate Sam Arora, who is the chief sponsor of the bill, and Sam testified also.

Hopefully, the special session work was a good sign for the Maryland False Claims Act.  As I mentioned in my testimony, however, the best thing for Maryland would be to pass one false claims act, copying the federal False Claims Act word-for-word.

In the meantime, my hat is off to Del. Arora and his excellent staff for continuing the fight to pass a Maryland False Claims Act.  My testimony from November 13, 2013 is attached.
